Academy of Beauty Training offers Guided Learning hours, home study, case studies, portfolio building and an in-house assessment day.

This course requires 20 hours home study and learner check lists.

Day 1 – Full salon Health & Safety
Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. A&P of relevant bones, muscles & lymphatic systems. Client consultations, contra indications, skin analysis, diseases & disorders, characteristics of skin including Black and Asian skin. Product knowledge to skin types and professional products used. Treatment preparation and trolley set up. Superficial cleanse and deep cleanse techniques. All materials and their use. After care advice. Practice session for students to perform superficial and deep cleanse.

Day 2 – (Mini assessment on previous week)
Contra-indications to exfoliation, steam, extraction and masks, treatment preparation and trolley set up. Full demonstrations to skin analysis, steam treatments, exfoliation and comodone extraction. Full demonstrations to face masks including clay prescription masks. Full demonstrations to professional products for various skin types. Contra-indications to using oils and aromatherapy oil products. Practice session for students to perform exfoliation, steam, extraction, massage routines and techniques and masks.

Day 3 – (Mini assessment on previous week)
Product knowledge to skin types and professional products used, treatment preparation and trolley set up. Full demonstrations to massage techniques and routines, face, neck and shoulder massage. Massage routines to complete the luxury facial. Client aftercare advice and homecare. Practice session for students to perform full facial routine including facial cleanse, exfoliation, steam, extraction, facial massage, mask, tone and moisturise for all skin types.
