The Level 2 Gym Instructor course provides students with personalised course content, tutor support, and expertise that will enable our students to progress in the fitness industry. The Level 2 Gym Instructor course will cover the key topic areas relating to the role of a gym instructor in developing programmes, instructing exercise, and understanding the body’s response to exercise. Understand how to programme sessions and deliver a comprehensive gym session that includes all elements of a training programme. Set goals, build programmes, demonstrate exercises and understand training intensities suitable to the clients worked with. Study with Entire Training and receive an internationally recognised course.

The key principles of exercise, fitness, and health, including the components, principles, and variables of fitness, the health, and benefits of physical activity, and the importance of healthy eating.
Anatomy and physiology of the human body and how this relates to exercise and health, including postural and core stability.
Effective working relationships with clients, how to provide ongoing customer services, and how to support clients to adhere to exercise/physical activity.
Gym instructors need to maintain health, safety, and welfare in a fitness environment, including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
Plan and prepare a gym-based exercise programme with apparently healthy adults – both individuals and groups.

Many of those who complete the Level 2 Gym Instructor course often go on to complete the Level 3 Personal Trainer course to further their knowledge.

Qualifications

Upon completion, students will receive a Focus Awards Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, recognised by both CIMSPA and REPs.

Assessments

Online study option - This course method is assessed via a coursework portfolio and a practical video assessment along with a 20-hour industry experience log. Face-to-face blended learning - This learning method is assessed via the completion of an online coursework portfolio and an in-person practical training weekend & an in-person assessment.

Requirements

No previous qualifications are required to enrol on the Level 2 Gym Instructor course, as it is an entry-level qualification. You will however need to be 16 years of age or over.
