Advanced Dermal Fillers

Our Advanced Dermal Filler course is taught by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner and has been structured from start to finish with you in mind, to assure that when you complete your training, you will leave with the specialist skills to perform Dermal Fillers to the advanced areas of the face.

The aesthetic training courses cover the anatomy and physiology of the skin to ensure you have the knowledge and understanding of human related mechanisms that could have some involvement in the process of these treatments, and in order to aid in your knowledge of the procedures in Dermal Fillers.

You will gain practical experience both in the classroom and working on live models.

Course Content

Background of Dermal Fillers

• Understanding the history, development and composition of dermal fillers, including their use in aesthetic procedures.

Hyaluronic Acid

• Exploring the properties and role of hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers, including its natural occurrence in the skin and its function in providing hydration and volume.

Anatomy and Physiology

• Studying the structure and function of the skin, muscles and underlying tissues to facilitate safe and effective filler placement.

Anatomy of the Face

• Learning about the facial anatomy, including muscles, fat pads and vascular structures, to guide filler injection techniques and avoid potential complications.

Contraindications

• Identifying medical conditions, medications and other factors that may contraindicate the use of dermal fillers to ensure client safety.

Consultation Process

• Developing skills in conducting thorough consultations to assess client goals, medical history and suitability for treatment.

Client Selection

• Understanding criteria for selecting appropriate candidates for dermal filler procedures based on facial anatomy, skin type and desired outcomes.

Pain Management

• Exploring techniques for minimising discomfort during filler injections, such as topical anaesthesia and nerve blocks.

Adverse Effects

• Recognising potential side effects and complications of dermal filler treatments, including bruising, swelling and allergic reactions.

Complications Management

• Learning strategies for managing adverse events and complications that may arise during or after filler injections.

Anaphylaxis

• Understanding the signs, symptoms, and management of anaphylactic reactions to dermal fillers, including emergency protocols.

Hyaluronidase

• Exploring the use of hyaluronidase enzyme to dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers in case of complications or undesirable outcomes.

Aftercare

• Providing comprehensive post-treatment instructions to clients, including advice on skincare, sun protection and monitoring for complications.

Health and Safety

• Adhering to strict hygiene protocols, infection control measures and safety standards to minimise the risk of infection and other complications.

Needle Stick Injury Protocol

• Implementing procedures for managing accidental needle stick injuries to protect both practitioners and clients.

Legalities

• Understanding the legal regulations, licensing requirements and ethical considerations governing the administration of dermal fillers.

Insurance

• Obtaining appropriate professional indemnity insurance coverage to protect against liability in the event of adverse outcomes or legal claims.

Business Advice

• Receiving guidance on setting up and managing a successful aesthetic practice, including marketing, client retention and business growth strategies.

Costs and Profit

• Understanding the financial aspects of offering dermal filler treatments, including pricing, overheads and profitability.

Emergency Kit Advice

Live Demonstrations

Pre-study is essential to give you a basic knowledge of the dermal filler techniques and theory before coming to train with us.
